Homework Update

Hi Parents!

I want to update you on where we are heading with homework!  This week our students are beginning a fact fluency program in the classroom to improve our multiplication speed and hopefully we can tackle division too!  You will see a blue practice sheet coming home within the next week.  This sheet is to stay in the folder at all times, unless you are practicing with your child.  Once a week, the students will be tested on the facts they are practicing.  A parent volunteer will help them get a new set of facts, and the process starts over.  Please review the facts on the blue sheet with your child.

With this being said, there are three things students should be doing every night for homework.

1. Study spelling words

2. Practice 10 math facts

3. Read for 20 – 30 minutes.

Occasionally, the students might have a math worksheet or writing assignment to do in addition to these three things.  We are working hard at school, but as you can see, the amount of work we’re doing is starting to increase, so your help at home will ensure our students are doing their very best!  Thank you so much for all of your support this year!  Please let me know if you have questions.
