Fact Fluency Update

Hello, Parents!

We have worked incredibly hard this school year on building up our fact fluency in all four math operations (with an emphasis on multiplication and division). It’s time to have our students practice even more at home!

Moby Max is a great site that our school utilizes for help with math facts. An information sheet with usernames and passwords came home last week. Students can login, click “fact fluency”, and Moby Max does the rest. Students will have 3 seconds to answer the math fact they are given. Once students master one operation, they move on to the next.

Our goal by the end of the year is to have everyone master their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts. To sweeten up the pot, here is what I’m offering the kids:

Master your facts by June and you get an Ice Cream Dessert Party with Mr. Bowen!

Here’s what mastering the facts can get them:

Multiplication: Ice Cream

Addition: 1 topping (sauce, sprinkles, or whipped cream)

Subtraction: A 2nd topping (sauce, sprinkles, or whipped cream)

Division: A 3rd topping or turn it into a float!

Let’s get practicing at home for just 5 minutes a day. Pair that with what we’re doing in school, and we’ll have some math fact geniuses!
