On April 15, our 4th grade classes will be going on a field trip to the Grand Rapids Public Museum. An information page came home tonight on yellow paper. Please read it carefully, fill out the bottom portion and return it before Thursday, April 2. Thanks!
Here’s the scoop:
When: Wednesday, April 15, 2015
Time: We will leave the school at 9 a.m. sharp and return by 2:15 p.m.
What we’ll do: Our fourth grade classes will travel by bus to the Grand Rapids Public Museum to do a number of activities that are tied to our 4th grade curriculum. First, we’ll visit the planetarium and watch a show on the power and uses of our sun. Next, we’ll take a guided tour of the West Michigan habitats exhibit. Finally, the students will get to take a tour of the entire museum with their group leader to enjoy all of the exhibits.
What to bring: The students and chaperones will need to bring a sack lunch. Hudsonville Food Service can provide students a sack lunch that is charged to their account. Please see the slip at the bottom of this note and complete your choice of yes or no on school lunch.
Cost: The cost of this great trip is $6. The $6 covers the cost of some activities. Our awesome PTC is covering the rest of the cost for our students. We ask that this money be turned into the classroom teacher by Thursday, April 2 before leaving for Spring Break.
Chaperones: We are in need of chaperones to help guide students through the museum. Each class is allowed four chaperones who may come on the busses and paid in full, no cost to them. Other adults wishing to come on the trip and help with the students will be charged a total of $11 by the museum($7 general admission, $4 for the planetarium). Additionally, we will setup a carpool the morning of the trip because extra parents will need to drive into Grand Rapids. The cost for parking is the responsibility of the parents. If more than 4 parents would like to come, we’ll do a random draw for those that are paid for by the museum. All parents wishing to be chaperones on the trip must have been background checked by Hudsonville Public Schools first.
