Hi Families!
In reading we’ve been working hard to read informational books with power. We’ve discussed multiple things to get better at reading informational books like: paraphrasing, determining main ideas, recognizing and mapping out how chapters are organized (descriptive, chronological, comparison, cause/effect and problem/solution), and teaching others about a topic.
The video below will show a great example of how students are working toward using hand gestures, illustrations, a teaching (explaining) voice, and eye contact to teach others about a new topic. This work is preparing us for a small research project we will be working on over the next two weeks. Check it out!
